During the union of man and woman, the presence of the four elements of nature—Water, Wind, Fire, and Earth—symbolizes the Universe and Pachamama, embodying mysterious energies known by various names. The Inca Marriage in Cusco, Peru begins with the preparation of different plants and Andean ceremonies several days before the wedding ritual. The future spouses receive a sacred pact or power channeled through the Andean Shaman, whose divine energy unites the forces of the universe and Pachamama, initiating the new life of the couple with these powerful energies.
